Massage Therapy Services

30 minutes : This is an excellent choice for focus work in only one or two areas. Post workout, acute pain, needing a good stretch or just wanting to continue work that was done in a previous session on an area are all great reasons

 

60 minutes: This is the best option for regular maintenance, first time visits, or general relaxation. If you don't need full-body work but specific work on sections such as only upper body or only legs and arms, etc. this is a great option. 

 

90 minutes: This is the best option for needing focused work as well as general work or relaxation. If you haven't had a massage    in a while but you know there are areas you will need more time on, it's best not to rush through it so a little longer session is best. 

 

120 minutes: For the once-a-year types or those needing work on chronic conditions and pain, this is the best option. It takes time for the body to go from stressed and pain to calm and relaxation sometimes.

Specialty Massages

Myofascial Release (60 or 90 minutes): This technique applies slower, broader, and lighter pressure than traditional massage. The target tissue is the fascia that covers and envelops the muscles and runs just under the skin. With the slow pressure, the therapists hand can only go as fast as your fascia is spreading against the weight of the hand. Some areas go slower than others. This technique is quite wonderful for helping the body feel less restricted or stiff.

Abdominal and Visceral Massage (30 minutes): This can be done either on it's own in a 30 minute session or it can be added into your massage time. This is work done directly to the abdominal area and can include the ribs and hips.

CBD Massage (30-90 minutes) : We use locally made CBD balm and apply it to either specific areas that pain and ache are being experienced or we can use it throughout the entire session. Your choice. Whatever is not used in session is given to you to take home. The cost of the balm is $5 cheaper when purchased as a service than the same jar we provide for sale in our shop you get a good deal with this service.

Prenatal Massage (30 - 90 minutes) : We use locally made CBD balm and apply it to either specific areas that pain and ache are being experienced or we can use it throughout the entire session. MPS Neurostim Therapy

Microcurrent point stimulation (MPS) is a therapy that can be used on a large range of soft tissue pain and scars, both chronic and acute. A tool called a "dolphin" is used along points of the body to stimulate nerve impulses. It can even be used for vagus nerve stimulation. MPS neurostim therapy has been highly researched among electrotherapies. It combines the principles of acupuncture and modern neurological research to provide a natural, whole-body therapy with results that outperform other comparable therapies such as TENS units or acupuncture. In fact, MPS is a great alternative for those who want acupuncture results without the use of needles.

30 Minute MPS: This is a great option for specific, targeted work using neurostim or for first time clients that simply want to see if this will work for them.

60 Minute MPS + Massage: If you need the neurstim with massage to a targeted area, this is a great option. The neurostim takes about 20 minutes or more for any one area so it may be hard to fit in a full body massage with this option.

90 Minute MPS + Massage: If you need targeted neurostim but also a full body massage, this is the best option for you. Neurostim can be used in one or a few different areas as well.

What is Massage Therapy?

Being at least 3,000 years old in documented practice, it is the manipulation of the body's soft tissue by use of the hands with the goal of calming the nerves, relaxing the muscles and allowing the body to adjust itself from pain and discomfort.

In detail, massage therapy is really any one of three categories. It can be either "massage", "bodywork", or "somatic" work. Massage is the physical manipulation of the soft-tissue. Bodywork can include more movements such as stretching or use of assisting equipment techniques such as cupping. Somatic work involves more spiritual or mind-body techniques such as aromatherapy or craniosacral therapy. 

I've never had a massage before. What should I expect?  

1.When you come to see me, after checking in, you will be handed a medical information form. 

This allows me to know how to adjust my massage technique in order to keep you from any harm or worsening of discomfort. All medical forms are kept locked and secure at all times. 

2. I will walk you to the room where the massage will be performed. I will show you where to leave your belongings and what clothing should be removed in order to best perform the massage. (note: I would suggest all jewelry being left at home if possible. The level of undressing is entirely up to you and you should never feel obligated to undress to a level you do not feel comfortable with. A therapist will work over or around just fine. )

3. When I leave the room, you will lay under a top sheet and warm blanket, either faced up or faced down. 

4. When I come back in the room, I will adjust the bolster and confirm your comfort before beginning the massage. 

5. Throughout the massage, you are in charge. If the pressure is too deep or too light, tell the therapist. You will not hurt their feelings. 

6. If you only wish for work to be done in specific areas (only back or only feet, etc.) during the duration of your session, do not hesitate to describe exactly what you need. 

7. Typically, I will spend half the time with you face down, then the remaining half with you face up, entirely covered at all time except for whatever limb or area of the body I am working on at the time. After each area/limb is addressed, it is recovered. 

8. At the end of the session, I will step out for you to redress and step out of the room. 

9. Any suggested stretches or therapies (such as an epsalm salt bath) will be discussed at this time after which you are free to go.
